Chief Operating Officer
Bill Millar is NHS Ashford CCG’s Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for ensuring the CCG improves the health of the local population. He is also NHS Canterbury and Coastal CCG’s Chief Operating Officer.
He has worked directly with GPs across east Kent since 2011 to establish Clinical Commissioning Groups. He started his NHS career in 1983 as a regional management trainee before moving into hospital general management in 1990. He worked in a number of Kent hospitals before moving into commissioning in 1996.
Mr Millar was Chief Executive of Kent Weald Primary Care Group in 1999 and later Director of Commissioning at Maidstone Weald Primary Care Trust. He moved to east Kent in 2008 as Head of Primary and Community Care Commissioning for Eastern and Coastal Kent Primary Care Trust.
Bill has a Master’s in Business Administration from Keele University.
He is married with two children and enjoys running and cycling in his spare time.
